Product Posters

Graphic Design

Client: AUTUS Growth

About the Client:

AUTUS Growth is a process technology company and the largest manufacturer of Humic Substances in South Africa.

Deliverables:

Design three A1 posters to hang in the Autus Growth factory.

Challenge:

To explain to the clients what the product is, how it is developed and the results of it.

Outcome:

Design three separate A1 posters.

Phase 1: Strategy and Approach

Developing the strategy:

First I needed to understand the product which was humic and fulvic acid substance. Once I understood the product, I looked for images that showed and represent these acid substances. I researched posters, infographics and looked for images that were related to farming. I worked close with the client and he assisted with some other elements I needed to add.

Defining the Brand:

Autus Growth only had a logo and I had to create the brand identity from scratch. The product was related to agriculture. The colours I chose was a mix green palette, some of these colours I took from the logo. To break the greens I added a pale orange and yellow as well. I played around with the fonts by mixing Robotto, Mukta, and Century Gothic fonts.

Understanding the User:

The users are clients who are in the agricultural industry and they are looking for quality products at a reasonable price.

Positioning:

Design three A1 posters that explains the product, process and outcome.

Phase 2: Brand Refresh

Poster Design:

The product poster begins with a colour palette of each product defining a different colour. The wheat image represents the result of the usage of the product. Using a sunset image, the colours brings out a vibrant energy towards the design. The Mukta font was used for the headings and Century Gothic was used for the paragraphs. The icons I stuck with integrated the green palette as they popped to represent the benefits of the product.

The process poster is an infographic design and I wanted to symbolize a timeline style so the steps could be clear. The numbering of the steps were positioned in the middle and the explanations started on the left, moved to the right, then left again and so on. The colours I chose were from the green palette and added hints of orange in step two in order to identify the different materials that are captured before choosing the good one. The Mukta font was used for the headings and Century Gothic used for the paragraphs.

The outcome poster is based on the information for the use of the product results. I added the graphs that were provided to me on the right and the text on the left, so it would be easier to connect the information and graphs while reading. The light-grey background was to ensure the graphs don’t get lost on the white background. The Robotto font was used as done so on their website. The footer image is a generic design I use for almost all other designs like e-brochures.

Phase 3: User Experience

Causing Delight:

It gave the factory some meaning of what they do and what they are all about.

Measure, Test, Adjust:

The client said that the posters truly helped as they were clear and the users would ask the right type questions.

The Outcome?

The client was happy and recently I had to update the outcome poster with the latest numbers.
